Convenient location to visit London (subway nearby). The bedding was very nice! Smart TVs available to cast your own shows. Common areas are inviting. And it was nice to be able to order in room service - namely their pizzas even if not the best I’ve had. The only thing I thought was a shame is I picked this hotel for its amenities but the coffee/tea available is soluble, I didn’t know if I could use the jacuzzi, the fitness area is very tiny and I was also very disappointed by the quality of their breakfast. I regret having bought breakfast vouchers when I could have gotten a way better meal in the neighborhood.

First of all, as a housekeeping supervisor, I have to say that everything was fine in the room. Cleanliness, comfortable bed, and the electric blinds that can be controlled from the bed, a great solution. (There are also EU and UK sockets in the room, which is also good) Before we stayed at the hotel, I read the reviews and was a little worried about what to expect. I read a lot about the rooms being cold, this was not the case with us. And there is the option to cool or heat the room with the air conditioning. I don't understand why this causes problems for guests. Our room did not face the street front, so I can't comment on the noise. We didn't have breakfast, we didn't go to the restaurant or bar, so I can't say anything good or bad about it. But at first glance, both places looked good. The complaints about the bathroom...yes an unusual solution, but with a little attention you don't soak everything, for three nights we managed not to flood the entire bathroom. And the complaints about the area...what do you expect when the East London mosque is just around the corner? We had no problems with the area or the locals. We walked around the streets a lot at night and nothing happened. But if that bothers you....just look at Google Maps to see where the hotel is located. Unfortunately, for some people nothing is good enough...we had a great time, thank you for your hospitality New Road Hotel!

I paid a much cheaper rate for 2 nights due to a Black Friday sale which made the stay good value. Customer service is great and staff are very friendly and helpful. I booked a room at New Road Hotel for my husband’s birthday a few months in advance but I was worried the day before arriving after seeing the most recent Google reviews. I emailed the hotel with my concerns and had requested a courtyard-facing room at the time of booking. Reception emailed me back to confirm the room and reassured me of my concerns. Upon check-in we were given a road-facing room so I went to Reception to ask if we could change to the room type we requested. Reception apologised for the error and quickly checked us into a courtyard-facing room, and then later on they brought us brownies with candles which was a lovely gesture for my husband’s birthday. The room was very nice, clean and spacious (we were in Warehouse K), and the bathroom is like a wet room. The bed was large and comfortable and the room was very quiet as it faced the courtyard instead of the main road. The heating system was working so we could adjust it to a comfortable temperature. Unlimited tea, coffee and hot chocolate is provided in the communal areas on each floor, but it would be better if these drinks were already available in every room. Additionally, there is no drinking water provided in the rooms so you have to pay for a bottle. Location is good. From the hotel you can walk to Whitechapel station in less than 10 minutes. You can take an underground train journey to Tottenham Court Road (only 3 stops via the Elizabeth Line) which is easily within walking distance to Covent Garden, Soho, Regent Street, and other areas of Central London. Overall, a good experience. It is not luxury but was perfectly functional. I would return if I can book cheaper rates again when prices go on sale.

We stayed at the New Road Hotel in London and overall had a good experience, with some clear strengths and a few points to be aware of. The staff were consistently very friendly, helpful, and accommodating, which made us feel welcome throughout our stay. A real highlight was the food: both breakfast and dinner were excellent and of very high quality. The entrance area is beautifully designed in an industrial style, with lovely decorations – especially during the Christmas season, which created a warm and inviting atmosphere. There is also a small lounge area where guests can help themselves to free coffee and tea, which we appreciated. The room itself was okay, but in our opinion could be improved. It really depends on what you expect. There was no wardrobe, the room felt quite cold and drafty due to insufficient heating, and the walls were very thin. The biggest downside was the shower: it was almost open to the room without a proper shower screen, so the entire floor and surfaces got completely wet every time. You have to be prepared for that. On the positive side, the bed was very comfortable, and there was a TV, which was fine. The hotel is officially rated four stars, which honestly surprised us a bit. As frequent travellers from Germany with relatively high expectations, we felt the room did not quite meet a four-star standard. That said, for an overnight stay it is absolutely fine. We would recommend this hotel to travellers who are looking for a pleasant price–performance ratio, want to feel comfortable and welcome, enjoy very good food on site, and value an excellent location. The hotel is located in Whitechapel, an area shaped by Indian and Pakistani communities. Everyone we encountered was friendly, but it is a socially less affluent area, which is something to be aware of. However, the location is excellent in terms of transport: many bus lines and the Whitechapel tube station are right around the corner, with frequent connections in all directions across London. However, travellers who place great importance on a very well-equipped or luxurious room might not find this hotel the right fit.

Wow! What a fantastic hotel right in the heart of Whitechapel within a stones throw of Whitechapel station, it is quite literally a 3 minute walk and a 2 min walk to the famous Whitechapel market. You can walk to Brick Lane within 15 mins and you can see the City from New Road in the distance but its not that far to walk, about 20 mins or so or you can just jump on the underground a few stops. My niece and boyfriend stayed for the weekend with the breakfast and dinner option included and the food was absolutely fantastic quality. Service was impeccable! Rooms were really lovely - very clean! Moreover, the kids felt very safe and comfortable here which was very important for us. The hotel itself was an old textile warehouse and the style is industrial with lots of wood and low lighting, it really is gorgeous. They have done a marvellous job with this place. Spotlessly clean, front of house reception staff were very warm, welcoming, kind and friendly. We would all stay here again it was just fantastic, honestly. Lots of amazing eateries right on the doorstep of the hotel so lots to choose from plus lots of local history, the Jack Ripper walking tour, the Whitechapel Museum etc. Bus Stop A for the National Express to Stanstead Airport is just around the corner from the Hotel - 2 min walk literally. Cannot recommend this fab Hotel highly enough - would give it a 10 stars if I could.

The room had a nice modern aesthetic with a cosy feel. The hotel staff were lovely. Especially the restaurant / hotel manager and breakfast staff members. Would stay again.

A well-designed and functional concept offering free coffee and tea stations on every floor, a yoga terrace, an ironing station, a library and a co-worling space; excellent breakfast choices even for vegans.
